Our curriculum
At Bright Roots, we are proud to offer our own carefully designed curriculum, created to give children everything they need to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to covering the essential early learning areas, our program emphasizes social-emotional learning, environmental awareness, and bilingual development in English and Spanish.

Language
Each language has its own carefully designed curriculum, adapted to how children naturally learn English and Spanish. Activities include storytelling, songs, and early literacy, helping children develop strong communication skills in both languages.

Mathematics
Mathematical concepts are explored in both English and Spanish, so children build understanding regardless of language. Hands-on activities include problem-solving, building, and patterns, making math engaging and practical.

Environmental Science
Children explore the natural world in both English and Spanish, developing a sense of care and responsibility for their environment. Activities include gardening, recycling, and sustainability projects, fostering curiosity, observation, and stewardship of the world around them.

Socio-Emotional Learning
SEL is integrated into daily routines in both languages, helping children grow emotionally and socially. Children practice empathy, teamwork, and mindfulness, building confidence and strong relationships.
Why do we alternate languages daily?
At Bright Roots, children experience one language per day, alternating between English and Spanish every day. This daily rotation allows them to immerse fully in each language while keeping both languages present in their routine, which helps them develop fluency more naturally and consistently.
By experiencing each language every day, children build confidence and comfort, thinking, playing, and expressing themselves in both English and Spanish. They don’t just learn words—they live each language through activities, play, and interactions with their teachers, making bilingual learning fun, meaningful, and long-lasting.

Do they have a different teacher for each language?
At Bright Roots, children have one teacher for English and another for Spanish. This approach helps them connect each language with a consistent voice and personality, making communication more natural and meaningful.
Having dedicated teachers for each language also strengthens relationships and trust, so children feel confident, supported, and engaged while developing fluency in both English and Spanish.

How will your child experience Slovak?
Alongside English and Spanish, children are gently introduced to Slovak in playful, age-appropriate ways — through songs, greetings, stories, and activities.
The goal isn’t full immersion, but rather to give children a natural awareness and appreciation of the local language. Over time, this exposure helps them feel at home in their community while celebrating their multilingual world.
